Where The Wind Blows

Alice and her doubles partner were playing on an extremely windy day. When Alice hit the ball to her opponents, it bounced on the opponents’ court, but before her opponents could hit the ball back, the wind blew the ball over the net to Alice’s side of the court. To try to win the point, one of Alice’s opponents ran around the net post to Alice’s side of the court, and before the ball bounced, she hit the ball down into Alice’s side of the court.

Whose point is it?

Since Alice’s opponent hit the ball before it bounced, the point should continue, and if neither Alice nor her partner could return the ball, the opponents should win the point.

Since the wind was a hindrance, a let should be called.

Since Alice’s opponent crossed into her court, Alice’s team should win the point.
